Great product, easy to use - required a few iterations to get everything in range - All good
I'm not young, but this is simply the best soldering iron I ever used. The movement sensor is so good - I love that I can set an idle temperature.
Device heats up very quickly. So many options to set if you want to (pretty sensible factory defaults).
It's a total no brainer at this price.
I am well pleased! I can't recommend it enough - if you are a bit thick like me: get it! You'll save yourself a fire or two ;)
Great tool with possible defect or unintended effect of first use producing a noticeable smoke that burns in the cnc logo further. This maybe a user error neglecting to remive a protective film but as I checked no charred remains are visible.
Otherwise it integrates well with CNC kitchen's insert tools and not only works well with the provided screws but with time can function with crossthreaded screws on inserts- at a higher temperature and more time.
The tool may need some more use to fairly judge longevity but so far I recovered a few inserts already. So good enough for me.
Non tool thumbscrew if hand tightened is suitable for soldering as the pressure needed to keep the tip retained should not be too tight.
The thumbsrew does have a notch for flathead or a thin coin to be used to tighten further.
However, I used this in an extreme example using CNC kitchens de-insert too and it requires to be tightened further plus the thumbscrew is quite small so gloves may find it difficult to adjust.
Longevity-wise I purchased 2 since I am expecting an upgrade this small and with threads will wear down with repeated changes of tips and if accidentally removed and lost while travelling.
The model is well designed and it printed without any problem with ASA and glue only (no brim). The measurements to do are super easy to understand with the interactive, rotatable 3D model showing hot to take each measurement, every step of the way.
Love it! Great value, device, and size for the hobbyist.

Package was damaged during postage and some items were missing, customer support resolved the issue quickly sending out replacements.
Works as expected. Remember to calibrate flow and pressure advance before running the calibration print.

Smaller soldering iron than I anticipated but that’s a positive as it’s very comfortable to use but also feels solid. Heats up very quickly and the controls are pretty intuitive once you know what they’re all doing.
Really quick postage too, was the first thing I purchased from vector3d but won’t be the last!

This was the first thing I ever used to calibrate my 3D printer and it made the whole process straight forward. The website tool is clear, and easy to use, and the print itself is very well thought out. I went from a machine that was poorly calibrated to one that produced significantly more accurate parts.
