This soldering iron was selected to be used with the Vector 3D VLMP. When searching for an appropriate soldering iron to use it was important that we avoided those of the lowest quality, but also given the affordable design of the VLMP we also wanted to retain the great value of the tool. This iron that we have settled on has great features for the VLMP application whilst not breaking the bank. It has quite a large diameter body with a significant taper and this holds in the standard grip design very well.

VLMP not included, just shown in pictures as example usage.

Temperature Unit Adjustment

If you need to adjust the units of the temperature between C and F do the following.

  1. Plug in the iron so that it shows "OFF" on the screen.
  2. Hold down the "+" and "-" buttons for 3 seconds
  3. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to select which temperature unit to use
  4. Wait 3 seconds to accept

Should have bought sooner

VLMP v2

Very clever design! The hardware kit is more than complete, mine also contained the hardware for v1. Instructions are well writen and very clear. Nice touch to use the tool itself, to finish the build. Weight calibration is very easy to do.

The VLMP v2 is a great tool in use. Highly recommended!
